Happy New Year
Posted: Jan 14, 2022 by: admin on: Mr Reilly's Blog
This week the children considered the tradition of making new year’s resolutions. The tradition goes back
4000 years to the times of the Babylonians. In Roman times, people sought favour for the beginning of
the year from the God Janus, the two faced god who looked back in time and looked ahead.
As we look back on last year, one of the standout lessons was the tremendous resilience and positivity of
the children from Bean Primary School. This was demonstrated in many ways, notably the Nativity and
the Christmas Celebration. As staff, we consider ourselves fortunate to work with such individuals.
As we look ahead, we do so with a strong sense of optimism. There are, and inevitably will be more
hurdles and challenges along the way, but we are confident that, in partnership with parents and carers,
we will continue to give our pupils an excellent educational experience throughout this year.
My personal resolution is to reduce the amount of TV I consume so that I can be more productive with
my time. I wish you every success with yours.
Happy New Year to you and your family.
