Young Carers Mission Statement

Bean Primary School is committed to meeting the needs of Young Carers so they can attend and enjoy school in the same way as other students and achieve their potential. We are fully dedicated for every Young Carer to participate in all areas of school life so that they can be successful.

We have a designated Young Carer Lead and a Young Carer Ambassador - Mrs Carney and Mrs Harle.

The school only shares information with professionals and agencies on a need-to-know basis in order to support our pupils and their families. We are committed to overcoming barriers to learning and help raise attendance and attainment of Young Carers.

The school will always actively seek feedback and ideas from young carers and their families to shape and improve our service.

Bean primary has a proactive approach to identifying Young Carers. The school has an effective identifying system and strong partnership in place with relevant external agencies to make referrals including our local Young Carers service, Imago. This enables us to make positive applications for support.

The school uses Pupil Premium funding to minimise any barriers to education and learning experienced by eligible young carers.

Bean Primary will maintain regular staff training and commit to frequent whole school assemblies.
